Barcelona x Chelsea

Feb 15, 2018
1 min read

"As long as you play for Barcelona you are the favorite to win any game and you have the chance to do it" Gerard Pique was heard speaking at the presentation of Barca's sponsorship agreement with Beko.

Given Chelsea's current struggles, next week's clash may seem to favor the Catalonians.

Here are some interesting facts to think about; Barcelona have failed to beat Chelsea in the past 5 games. They lost twice and tied 3 times against Conte's men since 2006.

Barcelona's midfield seems to be slowly fading away compared to Chelsea's Kante and Fabregas chance creation that have been better.

This does not mean Barcelona are less of a threat to Chelsea. To the contrary, it will be next to impossible to repeat 2012 where Conte's men; Gary Cahill and David Luiz had Messi on lock down.

Perhaps they will resort to their stronghold which is attacking with pressure and keeping it airball. If you have been keen you would notice Barcelona have been lacking on areal balls.

The likes of Hazzard and Morata will prove deadly to Barcelona's defense with pace and aerial attacks.
