GALAXY radiating back in a 2-0 win over Atlanta United

LA Galaxy fans were delighted with a 2-0 win at the home grounds ( Dignity Health Sports Park) this past weekend with Kevin Cabral and Dejan Joveljic both scoring to give the team a win after a 3 game losing streak.

Kevin Cabral tapped in the first goal off of a rebound shot from Javier Hernandez at the 7th minute into the game.

Atlanta United tried hard to get themselves back in the game with their quick passing and counter attacks but at the 90+6' Dejan Joveljic sealed their fate with a far post shot, finishing the game in a 2-0 victory for LA Galaxy.

This win meant a great deal for the host team LA Galaxy given their previous performances. The team mentality and overall performance was starting to be in question, here is what coach Greg shared about the win...

"The most important part for this group, is that, it’s a win. Which breaks the emotion, emotional moments that were going on in the previous games, and it allows us to build off of this week. Again, when everybody sees each other in the locker room, it’s a real positive thing."

Coach Greg also talked about the three Designated Players; Douglas Costa, Javier Hernandez and Kevin Cabral starting together, as well as addressing Kevin Cabral's performance in the team.

" He’s a player who is growing in front of the goal and he has to continue to improve," Coach Greg begun, " but the volume of running and his speed running, there isn’t anyone else who does that. I mean, he’s one of the top guys in the league when it comes to that." He continued, "And, you need that. It opens up space for other people. We probably get six chances to, if he's not on the field, maybe two."

LA Galaxy are facing FC Dallas on Saturday July 30th in Dallas at 6pm. The game will be aired on Spectrum SportsNet.
