Second Rivalry Game out of reach for LA Galaxy

LA Galaxy looses to San Jose Earthquake 3-2 in a Cali Classico at Dignity Health Sports Park marking their second rivalry loss in a row.


LA Galaxy kicked off the game but San Jose quickly took control of the first half making two goals in less than 30minutes into the game.


Coach Greg who shared his frustration at the media scrum also added that the players would have to earn their spot.


Defender William also shared how disappointed the team was including himself on what caused the early goals for them and admitted that the defense and team as a whole would need to step up moving forward.


LA Galaxy regrouped for the second half and came back with the will to win, making changes in the frontlines, introducing Douglas Costa who was out due to a red card he picked, and Sasha and Kevin Cabral who immediately made an impact with an assist to Dejan Jovelick to give Galaxy their first goal of the match.


LA Galaxy kept pushing and containing San Jose until their second goal came from Dejan with an assist from Douglas Costa.


LA Galaxy missed close calls and denied a penalty that could have impacted the game, however it all ended in a 3-2 in favor of the visitors.


LA Galaxy will be facing Colorado away on Saturday July 16th, 2022.
