Updated: Apr 20, 2021

LA Galaxy went on an away mission to meet their ex player David Beckham’s Inter Miami team.

The MLS is back with fans was met with a great turn out by the Inter Miami and LA Galaxy’s fans locally and those that traveled. Both fans chanted their hearts out and were graced with the walk around by the LA Galaxy's former player David Beckham who waved and welcomed the team and fans in their first match of the 2021 season.

Inter Miami opened up the scoring right before end of first half; Pizzaro won the ball past midfield and found Higuaín. Higuaín covered ground giving the assisting pass to Robinson who just tapped in the opener for Inter Miami ending first half 1-0 lead for Inter Miami.

Both teams came back into second half strong. Inter Miami looking to maintain the lead and or possibly adding more goals. The LA Galaxy working to turn things around and have a fruitful opening season.

Inter Miami was still making it difficult for the LA Galaxy to find the back of the net, but at the 61st minute, LA Galaxy’s Chicharito finally quenched his goal thirst by powering a shot between Inter Miami’s goalkeeper McCarthy's legs into the net and giving the LA Galaxy an equalizer.

The game seemed to have evened out but Inter Miami got another leading goal from Higuaín's penalty at the 68th minute. That goal earned Higuaín a good start of the season with a goal and an assist for the night.

At this point you can tell these two teams were just going to score back and forth but only time would give us the winner.

“ I’m holding my tears...”

Inter Miami’s lead was short lived with Chicharito poaching a goal at 72nd minute to even the scores. This Second goal at the start of the season definitely earned Chicharito a vote for MLS player of the week.

“ I’m holding my tears. I suffered the loss of my grandfather, I would love him to keep watching me score goals...” Chicharito said during an interview after the game. Referring to his last season being difficult but now ready to be part of the unbelievable season and lift the trophy.

At the 80th minute, Sacha Kljestan sealed Inter Miami's fate. He fired a cannon hitting the lower corner of the goal, leaving the goalie frozen and speechless.

The game ended 3-2 in favor of LA Galaxy. The LA Galaxy play their first home game of the season on Sunday vs New York Red Bulls at 5pm.
