Beef for WHO?

Writer: FieldTalkFieldTalk

Fitness is a close companion to Nutrition and for athletes Nutrition is all, if not, mainly about Protein Intake.

Active athletes are recommended to have a daily intake of 1.2 grams to 2.0 grams of protein per a Kilogram of body weight. Half of this comes from protein we get from animals i.e. Chicken, Beef, but it doesn’t have to.

First things first, athletes can get the recommended amount of protein through food* alone, you don’t need supplements. That’s not it; you can get all that and more by chopping down half your meat intake and indulging more superfoods. Here’s why it’s a good idea!!

Enough evidence points toward process meats and beefs as carcinogen* (cancer causing cells). There are proteins found in animals that are important. However, unless you’re fully aware of what the animals were fed you cannot be sure you’re trading off.

Look, I’m not asking for you to go vegan, which by the way has been done by many pro-athletes* nor am I asking you to quit taking protein supplements.

Bottom line: It is important to understand that using all methods in moderation, allows for a clean and sufficient diet plan for an athlete who’s looking to Kill it in the field.

Understand your body and Over-stand your food.
