QUARTZ HILL LADY REBELS MOVE TO FIRST PLACE

The lady rebels moved to first place in their conference with a tough and physical match against Eastside High School. The lady rebels (8-1, 394th in US, 162th in CA), earned their victory with a great defensive performance by their back line and their goalkeeper.

The lady rebels fought off a very strong opponent and were able to score in the first half from a clean shot from outside the box by Kaylin Gonzalez.

Both teams fought it out in the midfield, and in multiple occassions you would see the determination of Angeles Escobar (Eastside Captain) dribbling the ball into dangerous ground and making dangerous run into open space just to be denied by the defense. In the closing minutes of the match, the Quartz Hill goalkeeper would deny Angeles Escobar from scoring and keeping the Eastside Lions at bay.

The Player of the game was Kaylin Gonzalez with the winning goal scored in the 17th minute of the match.

Quartz Hill will face Antelope Valley on 1/23/20 at 4:30pm.

Eastside HS will face Palmdale on 1/23/20 at 4:30pm.
