LAFC knocks down another LigaMX giant 3-1 to advance to the Concacaf Champions League finals

LAFC moves on to the Final, after beating one of the best soccer clubs in Liga Mx (Mexico), Club America 3-1, 2 goals by Captain Carlos Vela and Latif Blessings, with the goal that defeated the dreams of Club America and Manger Miguel Herrera. After not having the lead first half and a red card against them, they came back second half mentally prepared to take the half, keeping the momentum going to make all of L.A. proud.

The year 2020 has been a true rollercoaster ride for LAFC, now in its third year on the pitch. First on Wednesday night, the Black & Gold soared, defeating Liga MX powerhouse Cruz Azul 2-1 in the Quarterfinals of the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League positioning the Club one win away from its first international final and a potential berth in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar.

LAFC now finds themselves looking towards the (SCCL) final against another Mexican giant Club Tigre’s, and this will be not be an easy task. However, as the last MLS side remaining in the regional competition after Atlanta United, New York City FC, and the Montreal Impact were all recently defeated in their respective Quarterfinal matchups.

They dominated the game within the first two minutes of the match in their first champions league semi final, now they are representing not only, the city of L.A., California but the entire Major League.

“ Be smart, don’t be naive.” Said, Manager Bob Bradley, as they started the second half knowing that Club America would be ready to want to take the win as a Respectful team they are. “We have respect for the institution of Club América,” LAFC Head Coach Bob Bradley said. “We have respect for [their coach Miguel] Herrera. A semifinal against Club América is special. We are in our third season and we are still growing. But we are proud of our football, proud of our fanbase and we have talked often about how we started the season so excited to be in Champions League.”

The players remained focused after the pushing and shoving of half-time and with there great leader showing the example in the first 15 seconds, like Carlos Vela, the rest followed and craved the win more than ever as you saw them defeat play after play, even with a man down they never let their head down, trusting in one another, doing a few subs and coordinating on the field to get the win.

“The red card against Atuesta is questionable” says Bradley, getting texts messages from many telling him there wasn’t any contact. All that did for the players was fire them up and play Club America like they play back.”

MLS is growing, game after game they are showing how MLS is excelling , with new talented faces and now walking all over, the Mexican League, first with Former champion Leon FC, then Cruz Azul and now Club America, leaving many with unanswered questions, is the American League now above them.

And with final words in the press conference , “ it worked and helped us, we learned from mistakes of the matches in league for a moment like this. “ said Jose Cifuentes. “ I’m glad I had virus and am healthy for a final every player dreams of.”
