NWSL side Bay FC finished their Summer Series with a positive 2-2 draw versus decorated Japanese club Urawa Reds on July 27 in PayPal Park.

Based in Saitama, Japan, Urawa Reds are two-time WE League champions. The match featured a number of their star players, including top scorer Hana Takahashi and Best XI goalkeeper Sakiko Ikeda.
While Bay FC opened with an early 6-minute goal, Urawa dominated in possession, posting a goal in the 21st and 64th minute and keeping the lion’s share of play in the opponent’s half.

Bay FC looked to breakout on the counter, which proved more dangerous in the waning minutes of the match as Urawa lost steam and struggled to keep pace with Bay FC’s runners.
Bay FC were awarded a penalty in the last minute of injury time and equalized. This was Urawa Red’s third NWSL friendly in the past three weeks.
