The first matchup of the regular season against Minnesota United (13-9-6) ended in a

loss for LAFC (19-4-5). The home team took its first home loss of the season notably without their team captain Carlos Vela. It was first reported he would be a game time decision, but as we saw he would get a rest tonight.

Mason Toye of Minnesota had himself a night with two goals for his team tonight. First

goal came in the 25th minute inside the right of the penalty box. And the second goal in the 29th minute to give them the 2-0 victory. This sets them right in the 3rd spot in the Western Conference with 45 pts.

The home team had most of the possession throughout the game. Especially with its

dominance control in the midfield. But it was too many missed opportunities from their offensive side. Rodriguez couldn't seem to find the same opportunities he found in the last debut game.

This was the second time LAFC was held scoreless, and to point out captain Carlos Vela was out with a hamstring injury he received in last weeks draw against the Galaxy (3-3).

LAFC is now (11-1-2) at home, and this loss vs Minnesota brings their 6th game winning

streak to an end. The Supporters Shield Award is in their sites still, with six games remaining.

Los Angeles flies over to Florida for their September 7 matchup against Orlando City.
