LA Galaxy secures another home loss with 2-1 victory to New England Revolution

Leave it to Bruce Arena the former LA Galaxy and U.S. National Team Head Coach to outshine Ibra on a night where Zlatan scored the potential goal of the year with a Bicycle Kick Golaso.

Well, it was Arena who walked out the hero guiding the New England Revolution to a tough 2-1 road victory.

Since firing former Head Coach Brad Friedel the Revs have been on an impressive run continuing their recent surge with the first victory for new man in charge Bruce Arena who was pleased with the way the Revolution battled and managed a tough victory.

The Galaxy started strong commanding possession and controlling the pace in the first half, but the speed of the Revolution attacking players caused many problems for the Galaxy back line . Eventually the dangerous counter attacks proved costly for the Revolution who jumped out to a 1-0 first half lead and later capitalized with another goal in the second half for a commanding 2-0 lead.

Despite a stunningly spectacular Ibra goal to cut the deficit in half the Galaxy just could not overcome the early hole they dug themselves in.

The Galaxy fought until the last minute almost tied the game on a rifle of a shot by Diego Polenta that hit the crossbar. The Galaxy lost their 3rd straight home game and dropping crucial points that might prove costly down the line.

Both teams will be heading on a three week Gold Cup break with Fourth Round U.S. Open cup games pending next week. Bruce Arena was all smiles as he exited the field embracing his old colleagues and friends giving the veteran coach another special memory to add in his storied career.
